Current Georgia gas rates, October 2026

Fuel Georgia has the lowest estimated annual cost among rankable standard 12-month fixed plans for October 2026, at $1,069.18. Metro-Atlanta-only offers are listed separately and are not in this ranking. 10 marketers filed; gas rates start at $0.650 per therm. The lowest gas rate alone does not determine the lowest annual cost: service charges also matter.

Comparison tools audit, checked September 16, 2026

The current-rate summary above updates from our latest published PSC filing. The audit below records how six comparison sites treated the September 2026 chart when checked on September 16, 2026. These are dated observations, not a new audit of their current pages. We run one of the six, so read it with that in mind. Each tool is linked.

1. Georgia PSC Marketers Pricing Index

psc.ga.gov

This is the source every other tool on this list draws from, directly or not. Each month every certificated marketer files its rates, and the PSC publishes them as PDF charts for fixed, variable, senior and prepay plans. The fixed chart lists every marketer, with the filed rate, customer service charge, early termination fee, effective date, and the PSC’s own “apples-to-apples” monthly and annual price for a typical customer.

Strengths: complete, official, current, no sign-up. Limits: it is a wide PDF, hard to read on a phone, not sortable, and each month is a separate file, so history takes work.

2. Energyshop

energyshop.com

Energyshop lists all 10 marketers with a 1-year fixed rate and the service charge, and says its prices were last changed September 11, 2026. The rates are a mix: most match the September filing, two (True Natural Gas and Town Square Energy) match August, and two (SCANA Energy and Georgia Natural Gas) are promotional offers rather than filed rates. It shows per-therm prices only, not an annual total.

Funding: “Energyshop earns signup or referral fees from some of the suppliers listed.”

3. NaturalGasPlans.com

naturalgasplans.com

The Georgia page reads “Last Updated September 16, 2026,” but its main table is marked “Updated: 1/8/2026” and lists 8 marketers, leaving out Stream Energy and Georgia Natural Gas. A second widget updated the same day shows plans from 3 marketers. It lists per-therm rates and customer charges, not annual cost, and asks for a ZIP code before you view a plan.

Funding: “We receive compensation from these partners when a customer enrolls … We are also paid for featured ad placements.”

4. Georgia Gas Savings and UtilityRates.com

georgiagassavings.com and utilityrates.com

These two sites share an operator (“operated on behalf of Electricity Ratings, LLC,” “Powered by Lumanex”) and show the same plans. Both list five marketers: Constellation, Gas South, Georgia Natural Gas, SCANA Energy and XOOM Energy. Fuel Georgia, Stream Energy, Town Square Energy, True Natural Gas and Walton EMC do not appear. Rates are stamped with today’s date and are the marketers’ current offers, some of them below the filed rate. Some listings are labeled “Sponsored.” The page shows the rate, monthly charge and early termination fee, but no annual cost, and its usage estimate is labeled in kWh.

Funding: “Sponsored” labels on listings and a “Partner With Us” form for energy providers.

5. EnergyBot

energybot.com

EnergyBot’s Georgia page carries a “Fact Checked” byline dated September 16, 2026. Its rate table shows two plans per category, and every figure in it matches the PSC’s May 2024 chart: for example, Xoom Energy’s standard fixed plan at $845.91 a year, $1.38 per therm. On the September 2026 chart, Xoom’s comparable price is $1.67 per therm. The table has no service charge or termination fee columns.

Funding: “When you enroll with a provider through our site, that provider pays us a referral fee,” and “we do not list every licensed provider.”

6. Open Natural Gas

opennaturalgas.org

This site. It republishes every marketer’s filed rate from the PSC chart each month, ranked by estimated annual cost using the PSC’s usage assumption, with separate tables for fixed, variable, senior and prepay plans, history back to January 2019, and PSC complaint counts. Every page links to the PSC filing it came from, and the parsed data is published as rates.json.

Limits: it depends on the PSC publishing on time, so it can lag the chart by days. It shows filed rates, which are sometimes higher than a marketer’s current promotion; where we have verified an advertised offer, it appears separately and does not change the ranking.

Funding and disclosure: no leads, affiliate links, sign-up fees or placement fees from marketers. Open Natural Gas is not paid by any marketer and no marketer can pay for placement. Its tables come from Georgia PSC filings and published offers. The ranking formula is on the methodology page.

Which should you use?

For the official numbers, go to the PSC chart. For a sortable version of the same numbers with annual cost, use a tool that shows all 10 marketers and a current month. Whatever you use, check two things before signing up: the date of the rates, and whether the marketer you are looking at is the cheapest one filed or just the cheapest one listed.
